Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2, 2026
This is a plain-language starting template covering what CommunityHub actually collects and does today. It isn't legal advice — have a lawyer review and adapt it to your jurisdiction and specific practices before relying on it for a live product.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, name, username, and avatar image, whether you sign up directly or via Google Sign-In.
- Location: the country, state, and city you set, used to scope your community feed. You choose how precise this is.
- Content: posts, comments, messages, poll votes, event RSVPs, follows, and any photos, videos, or files you upload.
- Usage data: basic technical data like IP address and device/browser type, used for security (e.g. rate limiting) and diagnostics.
How we use it
To run the core product: showing you the right community feed, delivering messages and notifications, enforcing account security, and moderating content that violates our guidelines. We don't sell your personal information.
Third parties we use
- Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider. Your account data and content are stored on their infrastructure.
- Google — if you choose "Continue with Google," Google shares your name, email, and profile picture with us to create your account. We never see your Google password.
- Our hosting provider, to serve the app itself.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in between visits. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Your controls
From Settings, you can export a copy of your data at any time, change your email or password, or delete your account outright — deletion removes your personal information from our systems rather than just hiding it. You can also deactivate your account temporarily without deleting anything.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information promptly; some minimal records may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Children's privacy
CommunityHub isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
